OnBase

In our latest system update, we rolled out the ability to set reminders on notes. Once you set a reminder on a note, you will receive an email about the note on the date you set in the reminder.

Secondly, a "My User Settings" filter was created as a single source for viewing/updating your notes, reminders, and My Checklist list, along with disabling the weekly Reminder digest (should you wish not to receive it).

You can read more about using the Reminders functionality in our ongoing OnBase Phase Two Feature Update Description document or by watching the video tutorial.

Mentoring Letters for Junior Tenure-Track Faculty

As you know, an annual review letter is required for all pre-tenure tenure-track faculty not currently in the reappointment cycle. These annual letters fall into a process called “Annual Review Letters for Junior Faculty.” The goal of these annual review letters is to provide annual, documented assessment regarding research, teaching, and service to tenure-track faculty as they progress toward a tenure decision.

The deadline for annual review letter drafts to be submitted to the Provost’s Office in OnBase is Friday, May 24, 2024. For more detailed information, review the instructions and the template.

Student/Faculty Jobs in Personnel Actions

The roll-out for faculty jobs has been pushed out to January 2025. This delay is due to the delay in the roll-out of student jobs.

ISSA

Have you recently hired someone who is neither a US citizen nor US permanent resident? Complete International Student and Scholar Affairs’ Immigration Request Form as soon as possible. Federal government visa processing can take 3-6 months. International hires may not be eligible for the July 31 prepayment. Fall tenure-track/tenured hires requiring visa sponsorship from the University will have an employment/visa start date of August 1 and, if currently based abroad, can arrive in the US no more than 10 days in advance (July 22).

If departments/units and new tenure-track/tenured hires wish to move forward with permanent residency sponsorship (which is not obligatory), mark your calendar to submit ISSA’s Request to Initiate PR Process form at issalink.nd.edu once employment has begun, but no later than 9 months from the date that the position was offered to the employee. Find information about the filing deadline, and advertising requirements for, tenure-track/tenured positions here.

May End-of-Year Celebration

Our end-of-year celebration for the entire FAST community will be held on May 23 from 10 a.m.–12 p.m. in McKenna Hall. We look forward to celebrating our accomplishments and planning ahead for what’s to come. We will close with a food and drink reception. Please RSVP here.

Spotlight on Success
We would like to continually celebrate the achievements of our community members. If you or a colleague have any accomplishments, successes, or special projects you'd like to share, please contact Chloe Leach.

Thank you for being an essential part of Notre Dame's FAST Community of Practice.
